About the role
We have a new and exciting opportunity for an Education Officer to join the NFU’s education team. You’ll have the chance to bring food and farming education to life in Primary schools across England and Wales specialising initially in the STEM subjects. The role will enable you to contribute to curriculum linked resources that create engaging and meaningful learning experiences for key stage 1 and 2 children.
In collaboration with the Education Manager you’ll assist in delivering high profile national competitions and creating resources highlighting the ever changing world of agriculture. We’re looking for an innovative team player with a strong background in delivering educational resource to help us create new ways of using farming and agriculture to teach the national curriculum and inspire children. Measuring impact through gathering feedback from teachers and learners, collating impact reports and case studies you will need a track record in delivering resources with impact in order to showcase the success of the Education team
This is a key role for the NFU and will help to establish the NFU as an organisation recognised as a leader in food and farming education.
You’ll have a good understanding of education and the English and/or Welsh curriculum. A creative and passionate individual who can inspire children and young people, understand what excites them and leave a lasting impression.
An experienced individual in delivering and creating educational resources aimed at primary school pupils either in a school setting or an education outreach setting. It will be helpful for you to have a basic understanding of agricultural issues as well as a willingness to learn and consult experts in their field. We’re looking for excellent communication skills and demonstrable ability to adapt to diverse audiences.
A proactive, team player who can collaborate with individuals both within and outside of their immediate team, you can be relied upon to deliver events passionately and professionally.
