We are looking for a keen, motivated individual with an interest in the dairy sector, who wishes to developing their skills as they progress their career as part of a hardworking and enthusiastic team on our family run farm.

The successful applicant will be working alongside a forward thinking team, milking 350 cows twice a day in a 40 point rotary milking parlour with another member of staff. Therefore successful applicant must be able to work as part of the team and also use their own initiative.

Our modern and well equipped dairy farm has a dairy herd of Holsteins, Jerseys and cross breed cows with spring and autumn block calving, rearing all our own replacements. The farm is predominately on a grazing system, however in the winter the cows are housed in cubicles on sand bedding. There will be some tractor driving duties, including scraping out the cubicles and the collecting yard daily, depending on eperience there may be other tractor driving duties, however this is not essential.  

The successful candidate needs to have a willingness to work flexibly and have good timekeeping skills as the position requires early mornings, afternoons and weekend work.

The position is a physically active role working in the outdoors with animals during all season; therefore the successful applicant will need a reasonable level of fitness, good health and practical skills. As well as good stockmenship and animal husbandry, a love for animals is essential as animal welfare is the top priority on our farm.

Basic milking/general farm experience is desirable however enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, along with a strong work ethic are essential.

Accommodation is available to rent by the successful applicant on site if needed. The static caravans are in excellent condition and fully furnished, viewing is available at interview.


The main role will be to carry out milking twice a day (5.30am and 3.30pm) with emphasis on good milking protocols and proper cow husbandry, as well as taking care of other replacement stock, calf rearing, scraping out, bedding up, some cleaning duties and general farm work.
