We are working with a leading poultry supplier looking to add to their high quality farm management team across their various sites. They supply fresh poultry from farm to fork through most of the major retail outlets.
The purpose of the role would be to successfully run the farm within company parameters to the highest standard, optimising flock performance whilst maintaining a great quality of bird welfare and bio security.
The specifics of the role:
Carrying out twice daily checks of sheds, looking out for bird health, welfare and removal of culls or runts.
Carry out weekly bird weighing and reporting figures to the Agricultural Planning team, checking more regularly nearer catching time.
Maintain and order stocks of feed, water, fuel, bedding vaccines and medication. Whilst also maintaining alarm systems, generators and general farm yard maintenance.
Keeping stock of the communication from the farm to supplier, managing traceability management in line with assurance standards and maintaining a good level of communication with area manager.
Ensuring good biosecurity, general farm management and health and safety on farm and be able to work with assistant farm managers in training and personal development.
The ideal candidate would be a bright talented future agricultural professional who is willing to take on the challenge and ever exciting poultry management role.
As the ideal candidate you would have:
Experience in livestock or livestock background, and being familiar with animal welfare standards, bio security alongside knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
NVQ/Diploma in poultry production level 3 or graduate level in similar sector.
Numerate, literate and computer literate with most Microsoft Office programs.
Previous experience within poultry would be desirable.
Effective communicator and good ability to work flexibly as part of a team or on your own.
